cotton butt

My sweet pea has a huge stash of cloth diapers we need to be using. The fella has lost work becasue of an emergency appendix surgery and I am still not making any income. There's no reason to be using disposabel diapers.  Even if the young lady we rent a room to thinks Im nuts and insists on buying me LUVS. So This week I want to challenge my self to get back to using cloth diapers. We have no plastic pants so its going to be a steady challenge to remeber to check the diapers more often. With cloth you have to change diapers more often but it is sure helpful in cutting down on diaper rash. Now I have a few all in one cloth diapers that look almost just like disposables (in super adorable prints, I might add) and then I have some old fashion prefolds (most commonly used for burp rags) and even some flats (pretty much a reciving blanket you fold and pin on baby) My favorites oddly are the flats. I love flats. They were the first cloth diapers we used on the little one. They are a novelty and I enjoy the challenge. So lets see how this week shapes up. Im all for cotton butt!

introductions please

Here I am a stranger in this place. I wonder if people can tell when they talk to me. That "I'm not from around these parts" I feel alone sometimes. But Coming from the destruction and anger that was not a life; i find joys unimaginable. I am starting over as if new to life. A new person a new place and a new  tiny being in my care. She came to us 6:32pm May 8th 2010. A tiny version of my fiance wrapped in pink. She has the seriousness in her eyes of many lives lived before. We grow together and learn one another as we have both been reborn. She teaches me that nothing eases the sorrows or life like blowing raspberry's into space. And that it's ok to spend all day with strained sweet potatoes on your shirt you are beautiful no matter. And that every moment is a Kodak moment. While i teach her the finer points of cooking, stretching and  why Joey from friends probably isn't the best roll model. I also make sure every day to remind her she is a lucky little girl to be growing up in a house with two loving parents. As her father and I are growing more and more in love with one another and being parents. We see that the world out side these four walls is very different from the lives we lead. We must have come from a different time and space. From a time when mothers were just mothers' they baked birthday cakes and sewed Halloween costumes and loved their husbands with all of them. And where fathers were just fathers the worked their fingers to the bone to provide a life for their family, they spent afternoons playing ball and mowing the lawn and looked at their wife as if she were the only woman. This is ann introduction to our family. To the life we are leading. I will not write this eloquently often. But I will write about our life..our journey as a family..the things that bug me and why and I will write about nothing at all some times. For sometimes there is nothing to say but many ways to say it.
